In Memoriam

With the passing deaths of such greats as Ed Mcmahon, Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson I pray that they as well as all others who have been lost in the past year are resting in peace. I won't post any pictures or video because their legacies, I believe, speak for themselves. I don't agree with the overshadowing that continues throughout the media with coverage of Jackson's death. Yes, he was an incredible, inspirational man, yet we should not forget the other lives lost recently. Let us remember them all and keep them in our prayers.

PRIDE HOUSTON 2009

Ok well.... I was supposed to go and take hundreds of amazing pictures and video for all to see, but I wasn't able to. I'm here at home wishing I was out doing something worthwhile. So I may be able to grab some pictures a friend of mine took. The festivities began this morning at 11AM. There were numerous bands and booths set up for tons of entertainment. Tonight the parade starts at 8:45PM followed by endless after parties that continue into Sunday. Sounds like heaps of fun. If anyone makes their way out to the festival please send in your pictures!

So I went to The Veronicas concert the other night and took some incredible pictures and video. Then i get a message on myspace from Lenik at www.miss-veronicas.com and she wanted to add my pictures to her international website! Take a look!
Go to the website for better views!

The show itself was amazing! June 18, 2009 at The Meridian here in Houston. Carney, fronted by Reeve Carney, opened the show. Reminiscent of a 60s hippie band, the show started off a tad slow until their very own rendition of I Want You by the Beatles. Rocked the house.
Next up were The Pretty Reckless featuring Taylor Momsen of Gossip Girl. At only 16 years old, this girl is the reincarnation of Courtney Love. She looks sweet but her low growl and leather jacket suggest otherwise. Their set was pretty amazing.
Last but not least were The Veronicas, headlining their first tour here in the states. This time last year most of the crowd would have probably cleared the room, not aware of who the tiny Australian twins were. The Meridian was packed with adoring fans screaming for both Jess and Lisa. Opening with the big hit Untouched and keeping the audience jumping for more with the likes of Revenge is Sweeter, This Love, 4ever and This Is How It Feels, The Veronicas ruled the night. After the show, all three acts signed autographs for fans. Pushing and shoving ensued once the main attraction hit the back table, but luckily no one was seriously injured. I'M BACK!

I know it's been forever and a day since I've blogged, but I've been super super busy and so many things have happened. I apologize, but now that I can breathe a sigh again, I'll have many many things to talk about. Check out my previous blog about The Runaways.
The origin of such rock n roll greats such as Joan Jett and Lita Ford, The Runaways were the world's first all girl rock band. They were super popular in Japan and released hits like Cherry Bomb. A biopic will be released next year with Joan Jett as executive producer. The film will depict the rise and fall of the girl band. With Dakota Fanning as lead singer Cherie Currie, Stella Maeve as drummer Sandy West, Alessandra Torresani as lead guitarist Lita Ford and the ever so popular Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett, the film is sure to be a hit. I'm pretty excited about it. I'll be posting updates whenever they pop-up.
Big Runaways fan? Like Kristen Stewart's new mullet for the role? Not sure about Dakota Fanning's acting abilities? Let me know what you think!

Rock n Roll at it's best!
